Cameron Diaz, a Hollywood actress, appears to have committed a major fashion faux pas in Peru.

The actress may have inadvertently offended Peruvians who suffered decades of violence from a Maoist guerrilla insurgency by touring here Friday with a bag emblazoned with one of Mao Zedong’s favorite political slogans.

While exploring the Inca city of Machu Picchu high in Peru’s Andes, Cameron Diaz wore over her shoulder an olive green messenger bag emblazoned with a red star and the words “Serve the People” printed in Chinese on the flap, perhaps Chinese Communist leader Mao’s most famous political slogan.

While the bags are marketed as trendy fashion accessories, the phrase has particular resonance in Peru, where the Maoist Shining Path insurgency brought Peru to the edge of chaos in the 1980s and early 1990s with a campaign of massacres, assassinations and bombings. Nearly 70,000 people were killed during the insurgency.

A prominent Peruvian human rights activist revealed the actress should have been a little more aware of local sensitivities when picking her accessories.

About the bag’s slogan, Pablo Rojas revealed, “It alludes to a concept that did so much damage to Peru, that brought about so many victims. I don’t think she should have used that bag where the followers of that ideology” did so much damage.”

Justin Timberlake was unlucky in love as a teenager. Despite being an international heartthrob, the ‘SexyBack’ singer insists he never used to attract girls and even got picked on at school.

The singer revealed, “I wasn’t successful when it came to girls. I had my crush-and-burns along the way, but everyone does. In school, every kid is awkward in some way. But it’s funny because the things you get picked on for when you’re at school become the things you actually cherish in later life. “That’s what makes you unique.”

When asked if seeing displaced families in refugee camps inspired her to adopt, she revealed, “It might be part of the reason my kids are from some of those countries, and were on their own. I feel very close to children or people around the world and when I met my kids, they were, to me, extraordinary - and felt just like family. And that’s how I feel about the world and other people’s kids.”

When she adopted Maddox, she revealed, “I fell in love with the people of Cambodia and I was sitting with a little kid playing blocks and feeling like my son was somewhere there. And he was.”

The “Good Shepherd” actress also revealed, “We’re always thinking about adopting others, we fluctuate between like seven and 12. We’re just making sure that everybody has enough time - it can take a full day making sure everybody has special attention.”

The 32-year-old actress added, “I only work sporadically now and when I do work, Brad’s a great Dad, so we take turns as parents.”

A source revealed, “The product uses natural salts and minerals from the Dead Sea and claims to have extraordinary rejuvenating powers. Madonna is hooked. She has started using Laline products on her face morning and night, and all over her body.”

A source added, “She could clearly afford to buy far more top of the range creams but it’s the Israeli ingredients that have her hooked.”

The discovery follows criticism that Madonna has looked gaunt in recent weeks.

Madonna has always tried hard to stay slim and toned - but the excessive exercise appears to have taken its toll on her face.

There is a speculation that Prince William and Kate Middleton have resumed their relationship, British newspapers reported Sunday.

The couple, which recently split, attended a party at an army barracks together earlier this month, newspapers claimed.

Prince William has invited Kate Middleton to attend a memorial concert to Princess Diana, to be held at London’s Wembley Stadium next Sunday, the Mail on Sunday reported.

A spokeswoman for William’s Clarence House office declined to comment on the reports, saying, “We don’t discuss William’s private life, it’s a matter for him,” she said, on customary condition of anonymity, in line with policy.

Britain’s News of The World tabloid claimed the couple had been on a string of low-key dates since their split.

After publicity tour of “Shrek The Third” that took her to London and Taiwan, Cameron Diaz journeyed to the ancient Incan capital of Cuzco in the Peruvian Andes.

The actress, who voices Princess Fiona, explored the cobblestone streets Tuesday, just a few hours after her arrival with a group of nine people for a weeklong visit.

Cameron Diaz plans to visit the jungle-shrouded Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and other ruins, according to Luis Ponce La Jara, who is helping with her security. Ponce La Jara revealed, “She’s on vacation.”.

The actress didn’t hold back on her first day in Cuzco as she was hiking up steep and narrow streets with a wide smile.

Rihanna, R&B singer, has suffered from excruciatingly painful headaches when she was growing up, doctors worried she was suffering from a brain tumor.

The 19-year-old singer underwent a number of Cat (computed axial tomography) scans from the age of eight until she was 14, when her parents divorced.

It turned out the cause of Rihanna’s headaches was the stress of her parents’ stormy relationship. Her father Ronald Fenty had an addiction to crack cocaine, which he has now conquered.

She revealed, “I wouldn’t cry. I wouldn’t get upset. It was just all in here (her head). I had to go through a lot of Cat scans. They even thought it was a tumour, because it was that intense.”

She added, “It’s not great memories. But it helped to build me and make me stronger.”

Angelina Jolie, the star of the film “Mighty Heart”, has dismissed criticism she’s an irresponsible parent for traveling to dangerous regions of the developing world in her capacity as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.

The 32-year-old actress believes her determination to change the planet for the better is instead a shining example to her kids.

A friend added, “She knows the operation is unpleasant and she will be out of action for a while, but she thinks it may be worth it. It is something she will probably have done in the States when the family is fully settled in LA.”

Victoria revealed, “I hate my feet, they are the most disgusting thing about me. Part of the reason I wear such amazing shoes is to take the eye away from my horrid feet and on to the stunning shoes.”

A spokesman for the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists revealed, “The operation takes about an hour and is usually performed under a local anesthetic. It is important to rest for three days afterwards and stitches are usually removed after two weeks.”

Jessica Alba, the star of “Fantastic Four”, recently revealed that her father was furious she posed for a magazine cover in a pair of tight white underwear.

The actress revealed, “I did this risqué cover for GQ, which my father is still really angry about. Mom thought they were cute pictures and said she really liked them but my dad didn’t.”

Prince William is reportedly set to attend this weekend’s Glastonbury festival. The 25-year-old prince is planning on flying himself and four friends to the Somerset site in a private helicopter. He said, “Jessica met up with me in Manchester, England, but for Paris I told her categorically no. This tour is very important to me. I’m doing it really seriously so there’s no question of playing sweethearts. This time I’m putting the machine before everything else.”

The singer has attempted to play down speculation that the couple are in love, insisting she is just “a very dear friend.”
