A pal revealed that Robert Halderman, who was accused of blackmailing, believed David Letterman seduced the young “Late Show” staffers by plying them with perks.
The CBS producer was convinced that the comic host bedded “six or seven” female staffers, according to the newsman’s friend. It was claimed that the Letterman would fly the female staffers on a chartered plane and put them up in five-star hotels.
The spokesman for Letterman declined to comment on the issue. But a longtime staffer dismissed the idea women were lured into romps as the source insisted that the interns are smart women and not shrinking violets.
