Joss Stone, who is the British soul singer, begun working on a campaign song for US presidential hopeful Barack Obama, according to a report.

Devon-born singer is said to have taken to her recording studio to ensure the song is ready for November’s election battle between democratic candidate Mr. Obama and his republican rival John McCain.

The 47-year-old singer is apparently a big fan of the 21-year-old’s work and is hoping her style will strike a chord with both black and white voters in America.

Joss Stone is already a household name in the US, where she spends up to nine months each year.

A source revealed: “Joss is a big supporter of Barack Obama and was very excited to be asked to do this for him. He sent a personal message asking her to get on board.”

The source added: “He has always admired her music and thinks she is the perfect choice because of her unique appeal to black and white voters. She believes he is going to be the first black American president and she is honored to be a part of that.”

She joins a long list of American stars queuing up to be associated with the phenomenon dubbed “Obamania”.

Film star George Clooney has thrown this considerable weight behind him, while R’n'B artist Alicia Keys and hip hop singer Jay-Z have dedicated songs to him.

Joss Stone, which is a British singer, has laughed off reports of her huge wealth. She insisted her life as a pop star is less profitable than people think.

The “You Had Me” singer has released three albums since rising to fame in 2003, but she admits her bank account is not as big as it is made out to be.

She revealed, “I see all these fancy sums attached to me and although I have more money than most people my age, it’s nothing like that.”

My record company gives me a lot to make a new album but I have to spend it on musicians and studios.

The singer added, “The only time I make good money is when I’m on tour but even then I’m having to pay my band and the road crew.”

Joss Stone, who is a soul artist, was planning for an early retirement from the music industry. It is because she wanted to become a nurse.

She rose to fame when he was only 15 years old. She also release her debut record “The Soul Sessions”, which was followed by 2005’s Mind, Body + Soul.

But, despite the commercial success of her musical career, the 20-year-old insists she would like to try her hand at other professions before she grows too old for a career change.

She revealed, “I certainly don’t want to get to 60 and find I’ve only been a singer all my life. I’d like to go back to school one day. I’d like to train to be a midwife.”

She added, “I want to experience all aspects of life and visit every country in the world.”

Joss Stone, who is glad to be rid of her manager, insisted she is better off without them.

The British soul singer has changed her representation numerous times throughout her five-year career, and is now determined to go it alone.

She revealed, “I’m never having a manager ever again. I’ve had four in the past five years and I hate them all.”

Joss Stone has been managing herself since parting company with her record label Sanctuary last year, after the firm was rocked by well-publicized financial difficulties.

Joss Stone, who recently performs in Princess Diana concert, is one of the celebrities that posed nude for the latest and final edition of Jane Magazine.

The magazine also features Serena Williams and Eva Mendez in its final issue. It also includes articles, which focused on female empowerment and attempts to dispel ‘size zero’ culture. The
magazine is expected to hit the newsstand in August.

In the article of its final issue, the 20-year-old singer revealed, “I’m not into wearing clothes at home.

She also speaks about her former boyfriend with criticisms for having low self-esteem that made an impact on her own style. She added, “I didn’t wear high-heeled shoes for the longest time,” she adds. “I would wear flip-flops because the guy i was with hated that i was tall – and tall can be beautiful! But because he hated it, it made me feel really insecure and i would try and make myself smaller – and that’s ridiculous. So now i wear great big f*ck off heels!”

Prince William is the one who has chosen which tracks Joss Stone will perform at yesterday’s Concert for Diana.

The prince rang the singer to be able to personally ask her to appear at the tribute show being held for Princess Diana, on what would have been her 46th birthday, to mark the 10th anniversary of her death.

A source revealed, “Joss is very excited about the concert. She wanted to do something special and knew there was no one better to do the choosing than the prince himself.”

A source added, “[Prince] William told her that ‘You Had Me’ was his favorite song so that’s in her set. He also explained that Diana was a big fan of Tina Turner so Joss has decided to incorporate a version of ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’.”

Prince William has also asked Joss to sing Queen hit ‘Under Pressure’, and the soul singer has managed to persuade the band’s guitarist Brian May to join her on stage for her performance.

Joss Stone, the English soul singer, was rumored to be the latest object of Prince William’s affection, however before she has had time to get used to the idea of ‘Princess Joss,’ her representatives have denied any possible romance.

Prince William is merely in contact with Joss to discuss her song choices for the Princess Diana tribute concert.

Dave Woolf, the singer’s representative, revealed, “They talked about what songs she is going to sing at the concert and that gets translated into a story about how William has been bombarding her with calls.”

Prince William recently ended his serious relationship with English commoner Kate Middleton.

The representative also revealed that Joss Stone is also looking at the relationship in a professional light. The representative added, “She is really pleased to be involved in the event and was anxious that she do something that would have meant something to the princess as opposed to singing any old three songs. She wanted to get direct input about what they wanted her to do.”

Joss Stone has prompted reports of a romance with Prince William after claims the royal regularly calls the singer to discuss her performance at the forthcoming Diana, Princess of Wales concert.

The young singer is among a number of acts due to perform at the London gig on 1 July, to mark what would have been the Princess’s 46th birthday – including Sir Elton John and Duran Duran – but friends claim single Stone, 20, has been getting special treatment from the 24-year-old prince.

A friend revealed, “She thinks he’s gorgeous and is incredibly flattered.” A source added, “Joss is delighted by the fact that [Prince] William is phoning her and they hit it off instantly. They’ve spent ages talking about which songs she should perform.”

Joss Stone, who recently complained about her love life, has been single since splitting with Beau Dozier two years ago. The singer moaned, “I think I’ll have to turn lesbian. Every girl my age wants to be in a relationship.”
