The Oprah Winfrey Show is going to go off the air on September 9, 2011 as its 25th season draws to a close, according to the president of Harpo.

A representative for Oprah previously dished that the television talk host planned to announce by year’s end about whether she was planning to make a leap from her current daytime talk show to her previously announced cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

The Oprah Winfrey Show is currently the longest-running daytime television talk show in the United States, having run nationally since September 8, 1986.

Oprah Winfrey thinks Chris Brown should get help as the television host hoped the singer should undergo counseling that he needs.

Chris Brown commented that it was a slap in his face because of the things he did for her such as going to Africa and performed for her school. He thought that Oprah should say that she’s going to help both of these people.

The representative for Oprah said that the television host appreciate that Chris performed at her school but domestic abuse is a serious matter. Oprah hoped that the singer should get the counseling he needs.

Oprah Winfrey has called in the Federal Bureau of Investigation to look into a $1 million scam allegedly sponsored by her talk show.

Winfrey’s camp was alerted to the issue by fans complaining about an email they had received, claiming they had been electronically selected to compete in an Oprah Millionaire Contest Show.

Con artists prompted recipients to fill out a questionnaire and send money for travel arrangements and tickets to the show.

Officials from The Oprah Winfrey Show reported the scam to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, and both offices have posted a warning to consumers on their websites, reports the New York Post.

Two previous cons involving Winfrey’s show have been handled by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office – an internet scheme in November 2006 and another over a fake sweepstakes in April 2007.

This is the first scam reported by Winfrey’s office to the FBI.

Oprah Winfrey has denied allegations a group of students expelled from her South African girls school for sexual misconduct were kept in isolation for weeks after the scandal.

Seven pupils at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls were dismissed from the elite school last month (Mar09) after being accused of sexually harassing fellow schoolmates.

Four of the accused claim they were not allowed to go to classes, communicate with other girls and were monitored by security guards stationed outside their hostels as a two-week investigation was conducted, accordingto South African newspaper The Star.

Winfrey’s spokesperson, Lisa Halliday, has confirmed the students had violated the school’s code of conduct and were asked to leave last month.

But Halliday denies the girls, who she claims were on “in-school suspension” during the investigation, were banned from socialising with fellow students and insisted the guards were assigned to ensure their safety.

Winfrey spoke out about her distress over the scandal last week (31Mar09), saying “It’s disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it’s a process that involves serious review and consideration. We insist on maintaining a campus environment that commands mutual respect, fosters academic excellence and encourages learners to fulfill their best potential”.

Oprah Winfrey’s all-girls boarding school in South Africa has been hit by a second s*x scandal since opening two years ago.

Seven students at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy School for Girls near Johannesburg were suspended last week for s*xually harassing their schoolmates, according to the Afrikaans on Sunday newspaper.

One 15-year-old “preyed” another student and urged her victims to lie to investigators about what happened, the paper reports.

Other girls were alleged to have been “intimidating others into partaking of inappropriate behaviors” at the $46 million school, according to the report.

A letter sent to one of the suspended girls’ parents reportedly read: “You have been found guilty of physical contact of a sexual nature with another pupil on campus, harassment, bullying other girls on campus and of being dishonest by not telling investigators the whole truth.”

Winfrey released a statement calling the scandal “disheartening.”

“I’m disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school’s rules. It’s disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it’s a process that involves serious review and consideration. We insist on maintaining a campus environment that commands mutual respect, fosters academic excellence and encourages learners to fulfill their best potential. Indiscretions resulting in disciplinary action are common in schools all over the world. Unfortunately, because of my name these common infractions place the Academy in the media spotlight.”

Winfrey opened the school in 2007, calling it the proudest day of her life.

About 10 months later, 15 girls reported they had been s*xually abused by a matron, Virginia Tiny Makgobo, 27. (The matron denies the charges and is due back in court on June 1.)

Fighting back tears, Winfrey said at the time, “This has been one of the most devastating experiences, if not the most devastating experience, of my life. But like all such experiences there is much to be learned.”

Jennifer Aniston is at war with Oprah Winfrey because the chat show queen refused to watch her new movie Marley & Me, according to a tabloid report.

The 40-year-old actress is believed to be furious that Winfrey has no intention of seeing the puppy love flick, which also stars Owen Wilson.

A source revealed: “To this day, Oprah has flat out refused to see the movie – even though she did screen it for her studio audience and producers when Jennifer taped a recent appearance on her show.”

The source explained: “Oprah lost one of her dogs last year and she says the last thing she wants to do is watch a movie about a tender relationship between a pooch and its owner. But to Jennifer this amounts to a cold-hearted rejection and she feels pretty bitter about the whole thing. It’s made her really question their relationship.”

The source continued: “Oprah is kind of a superstitious person and tends to break out in tears at the drop of a hat when she’s reminded of something that makes her emotionally vulnerable. Because she was so freaked out about losing her own dog a year ago, she said it would have been bad luck and bad karma to indulge in watching Marley & Me, which revolves around a couple’s relationship with a dog.”

The source added: “She knows how the story ends and the wounds from losing her own dog were still pretty fresh. Jennifer has said that it was totally irresponsible of Oprah to just skip seeing the film altogether. It’s really hurt her feelings. She doesn’t buy Oprah’s excuse about her dog’s death. As far as she’s concerned, it’s a cold-hearted snub and a declaration of war.”

Oprah Winfrey shared a private dinner last night with President-elect Barack Obama and Oprah’s best pal Gayle King tells us all about it.

According to the report, the high-powered pair were among 100 people at a closed-doors banquet at Blair House, across the street from the White House.

Oprah’s close friend Gayle King, who was also at the dinner, confirmed the rumor. The dinner, which she also attended with about 100 people at the historic Blair House across the street from the White House, was “top, top secret” and wonders how word got out.

She revealed: “You guys are good! How did you hear that? Boy you people are good. It was a buffet dinner, so everything you’d expect in a buffet was there – as someone who’s trying to fit into a red hot inauguration dress, a buffet is not my friend.”

Gayle said she wasn’t sure what Oprah would be wearing to the inauguration on Tuesday, but added, “she will look stunningly gorgeous whatever color or designer she chooses.” Gayle herself said she will be wearing something red from designer Angel Sanchez.

Gayle hosts a radio show on Sirius XM’s Oprah and Friends channel.

Oprah Winfrey broke her silence Friday about former guest Herman Rosenblat, saying she’s “very disappointed” in his now discredited story about meeting his future wife in a Nazi concentration camp.

The US talk show host revealed on an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired Friday: “That’s what happens with lies. They get bigger and bigger and bigger.”

Rosenblat, a 79-year-old resident of North Miami Beach, Fla., and his wife Roma have appeared twice on Winfrey’s show. Winfrey said he had planned to appear again to “explain himself,” but the man’s lawyers scuttled that.

Rosenblat’s tale of a little girl throwing apples over a barbed-wire fence to him every day at a sub-camp of Buchenwald in the 1940s was endearing, Winfrey said.

Oprah Winfrey said: “And he told that story and I was crying, everybody was crying.”

She noted that the couple did have an unusual story, saying: “They have been married for 50 years and he was, indeed, in a concentration camp and so was she.”

Berkley Books, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), had planned to release Rosenblat’s memoir “Angel at the Fence” in February. But after scholars, friends and family members challenged him, Rosenblat acknowledged the story was untrue and Berkley pulled the book.

A planned feature film about Rosenblat’s story still is scheduled to begin production this year, with producer Harris Salomon saying the script may note the “fabricated elements of their wartime love story.”

Until Friday, Winfrey let her Web site do the talking, adding a small disclaimer that “on December 27, 2008, Herman Rosenblat admitted to fictionalizing portions of his life story, including how he met his wife.” As of Friday night, Rosenblat’s discredited tale remained listed on the site as the first example of “Love Lessons From Amazing Couples.”

Winfrey’s site also refers to another discredited guest, James Frey. In 2005, Winfrey chose Frey’s “A Million Little Pieces” for her book club, but later brought him back on the show and chewed him out after he had acknowledged fabricating substantial parts of his memoir.

Gayle King , a Winfrey friend, said on her pal’s show Friday that Rosenblat’s story also disappointed her. But King took issue with some media outlets apparently saying Winfrey again has been deceived.

“I was very disappointed because when the story first broke, the big headline was ‘Oprah Duped Again,’” King said. “I called Oprah and I said, ‘I’m so tired of you being the whipping boy for this hoax because he didn’t just dupe you, he duped a lot of people.’”

Oprah Winfrey has admitted that she’s “fallen off the wagon” of healthy living as her weight shot up to 200 pounds.

The talk-show host has shared the details of her recent struggles with an out-of-balance thyroid and how the condition made her develop “a fear of exercise in January’s “O” magazine.

Miss Winfrey revealed that she’s gained 40 pounds since 2006, when she weighed 160, saying: “I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again? I’m embarrassed. I’m mad at myself.”

Her weight and height put her body mass index at 31.8, which is obese, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

She wrote: “When it comes to maintaining my health I didn’t just fall off the wagon. I let the wagon fall on me. I didn’t follow my own fundamental rule of taking care of self first.”

The 54-year-old presenter, who is regularly named as one of America’s most influential people, has carried on a very public battle with her weight.

Miss Winfrey famously achieved success with a liquid protein diet in the late 1980s, and wheeled a wagon loaded with fat onto the set of her talk show in 1988 to represent her 67-pound weight loss.

In 2005, Miss Winfrey admitted that she starved herself for four months to lose weight. Ever since, her weight has yo-yoed. S

In 1994, she finished the Marine Corps Marathon and by 1996 hired personal trainer Bob Greene, saying her roller-coaster weight saga was over.

But now, Miss Winfrey, a prominent supporter of President-Elect Barack Obama, finds herself tipping the scales again, telling AP Television last week that she has yet to choose a gown for his inaugural ball next month.

She added: “I had a dress on the vision board, but I’m not sure that’s gonna fit. So I have to work on something else.”

Oprah Winfrey, who worked hard on Barack Obama’s presidential election campaign, expressed that she never considered going to work for the president-elect’s administration.

The talk show host revealed last Friday: “I have a few full-time jobs already and a few full-time commitments, you know — contractual commitments that say I have to be where I am. So, it never ever occurred to me, not even occurred to me.”

She also revealed that she would stay put, even if the president-elect came calling, saying: “Even if I was offered, I still have contractual commitments and what could I do? I do what I do best on TV every day.”

Earlier this week, Oprah Winfrey’s production company confirmed she would host her Chicago-based talk show to Washington for at least two episodes during inauguration week. She’ll have a live show from the Kennedy Center Opera House one day before the ceremony, and tape another one on Jan. 21.

One plan she hasn’t yet thought out was her dress for the inaugural ball, despite rumors to the contrary.

She added: “I actually haven’t picked it. I had a dress on the vision board, but I’m not sure that’s gonna fit, so I have to work on something else.”
