Penelope Cruz, who has been the center of speculation that she’s pregnant for weeks, finally set the record straight at Toronto Film Festival premiere of “Broken Embraces.”

The 35-year-old actress, who is dating Javier Bardem, revealed that she received some presents from friends who thought she was expecting and the actress declared that she is not pregnant as she returned the presents.

She was also snapped smoking Parliament cigarettes while hanging out with Salma Hayek Wednesday at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.

Penelope Cruz is expecting her first child with longtime love Javier Bardem, sources confirm exclusively according to a report.

“Penelope is about four months pregnant,” a source said. “She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother.”

Penelope may be expecting, but she won’t be tying the knot anytime soon. She told the August issue of UK’s Psychologies magazine, “When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”

Penelope, 35, and Javier, 40, appeared together in three films — Jamón, Jamón, Live Flesh and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Penelope Cruz believes that she would be a “perfect” mother.

The “Volver” star, which is dating actor Javier Bardem, wants to settle down and start a family but not yet.

She revealed, “I would love to have children some day, but not for now. I think I would be a perfect mother. I love babies.”

The 33-year-old actress, who met Javier last year when they starred in Woody Allen’s latest film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, also revealed she isn’t interested in getting married because she doesn’t believe it has any relevance in modern society.

She continued, “I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, in love, in children. It depends on the situation, but nowadays I am not sure what marriage is for.”

Last year, Penelope – who was single at the time – said adopting a child would make her life “complete”.

She added, “I want to have my own kids, but also adopt. For a while I’ve had the feeling that my life won’t be complete if I don’t adopt.”

Penelope Cruz is reported to have suffered a panic attack on an airplane moments before take-off. The actress had boarded a Continental flight from Newark to Barcelona, where she is due to make a Woody Allen film. After a brief conversation between Penelope Cruz and a flight attendant, the aircraft returned to the departure gate and she disembarked.

To the consternation of others on the flight, all the luggage was removed from the hold and placed on the runway in driving rain while airport staff searched for the actress’s suitcases. One passenger revealed, “She was freaking out and refused to fly.”

Flight 120 eventually took off nearly two hours late on Thursday evening. Carrie Gordon, the publicist of the actress, denied the panic attack issue, saying, “There was no panic attack.”

The publicist added, “The airline let her know there was going to be a three or four hour delay due to the storm. She had work so she figured she’d deplane and fly when the storm had passed.”
