Selena Gomez faced an obstacle for being a licensed driver after failing her driver’s test.

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star took the written portion of the California driving test and didn’t get passing marks. She found the test hard because the course has 50 questions.

She was grilled by the questions from the California Driver’s Manual by Conan, who also took the test after relocating to West Coast. Fortunately, the audience called out hints to the actress.

Wizards kicks off a new season Friday on the Disney Channel and she also has her new album, Kiss and Tell.

Selena, meanwhile, said, “I love kids and I know I have a younger crowd, I get that. I just want to be respected by people my age — I don’t necessarily want to have fans who are my age. I would just love to be respected.” She continued, “The hardest part for me is the fame part. I love that kids look up to me. But people start getting curious about personal life, which makes me kind of sad, because then it’s not about the career any more, it’s about who I’m friends with. That’s a bit of a bummer. But that’s okay, I know that comes with it.”

Making no secret that she is a big fan of TV series “Friends” and one of its main characters Rachel, which is played by Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez admits she got starstruck when meeting the senior actress at Women In Film 2009 Crystal And Lucy Awards on Friday, June 12. “I was shaking!” she opens up to Just Jared Jr.

“I ran into Jennifer in the bathroom and she goes, ‘Hi!’ My legs started to shake and I ran. I didn’t know what to do because I freaked out,” she recalls. “I always say that I worship Rachel McAdams as a movie actress but for comedy – the whole reason I started my show and mannerisms, they were after Jennifer Aniston.”

“It was so funny, they were playing clip reels of the work she’s done and I quoted the whole thing. Every single thing she’d say, I would say it. People were sitting there laughing at me and they’re like, ‘Wow, you’re obsessed.’ I freaked out, but I was happy she got the [Crystal] Award,” adds Selena.

At the awards gala, Jennifer Aniston brought home the prize for Excellence In Film. During her acceptance speech, she joked that her career and personal life had a “strange parallel”.

On friend and fellow Jonas Brother ex Taylor Swift: “She has helped me through some really hard times. And the thing I can’t stand about that girl is that she doesn’t even need to dress up and she still looks pretty.”

Asked if this “very special person” was a boyfriend, she says, “Maybe.” Asked if he was a Jonas, she says definitively, “No.”

Selena Gomez, named ‘Favorite Television Actress’ at the 22nd Kids Choice Awards 2009 at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, on Saturday, March 28, was a notable absentee at the event.

On admiring Britney Spears: “In a way, Britney can be someone to look up to. She was constantly being looked at and picked on, and it’s starting to happen to me. At the moment, I don’t have anything good they can pick on me with, but they’ll find something. Maybe I can be as strong.”

On being proud of her heritage: “I didn’t even realize what a big deal it was to be Latin at first. But then one day being with my dad, it hit me: it’s pretty neat to be Mexican. And there aren’t enough Latinas in Hollywood-or there are, but they don’t get the recognition. So to be able to come out here and use that, it’s really a powerful thing.”

On the so-called feud with fellow Disney star, Miley Cyrus: “I think Miley can agree with me. There are so many more things going on that are so much more important to us in our lives than wasting time on that stuff.”
