Victoria Beckham, who previously dismissed starvation claims, had a new slimming trick: the “salt and vinegar diet”.

The 35-year-old former Spice Girls member was seen at a private party thrown by Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman at London restaurant Le Caprice. It was revealed that salt baths and vinegar drinks help Posh get even thinner in a bid to fit in with the fashion set

A source claimed that Victoria’s regime is taking Epsom salts bath to lose up until 5lb overnight. She also sipped three spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar and a liter bottle of still water, which sppeds her metabolism.

Victoria Beckham reacted to the reports that she is starving herself to stay thin as she labeled the claims as “irresponsible” and could have a negative effect on her young fans.

The pop-star-turned-fashion designer revealed that she is fine, happy and healthy. She thought that the starvation report is simply untrue and irresponsible if people obsess about her shape and size.

She added that she has a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle and plenty of energy to run after her three energetic boys and travel the world managing her fashion business.

Victoria Beckham has been banned from spraying her new perfume on The View to promote her latest fragrance.

The former Spice Girl has been invited by Whoopi Goldberg to her show to discuss about her perfume Signature Story but the host forgot her allergy to perfume.

The solution: Victoria won’t spray the scent within a nine-meter radius of Whoopi, and the audience members, who will receive the goody bag of perfume bottle, will not open the fragrance in the studio according to the agreement.

Posh Spice has landed a £3million contract on American Idol, replacing Paula Abdul, but bosses of the hit show are still worried about her image.

The 35-year-old has been given the stamp of approval by judge Simon Cowell and the maker of the show, Simon Fuller.

But channel executives at Fox are concerned her skinny frame and British accent may put off U.S. viewers.

Victoria was only due to sit in as a guest judge for one episode of the talent search show.

After her experience, she admitted she was incredibly nervous and said ‘I know how it feels to stand there and be judged.’

But she has since attended two rounds of auditions in Boston – making her position on the judging panel more likely.

Although fears over her tiny figure and distinctive British twang could scupper her chances of becoming a permanent fixture on the show.

‘American Idol is the highest rated show and they don’t want to pick a judge viewers don’t take to.

‘Focus groups are going to be set up to judge Victoria’s performance,’ a source told the News of the World.

‘There’s some concern about whether viewers will think she’s too skinny.

‘They’re also worried about her accent. She’s started to talk in a very posh voice and some people might struggle with that.’

Posh is not the only guest judge to appear on the show since Paula Abdul quit over a pay dispute last month.

I Kissed A Girl singer Katy Perry and soul legend Mary J Blige have also been lined up to take part on the panel.

But Victoria is the only one so far who has been asked to attend two rounds of auditions since her one-off appearance.

‘Victoria is the clear favourite because of Simon Fuller’s influence… She was a revelation at the second audition and is now top of the list to permanently replace Paula,’ added the source.

Fuller is the former Spice Girl’s manager and creator of the incredibly popular show.

However, Posh has made it clear that she’s not about to sign up permanently to be a judge.

‘The producers and judges loved her and she loved being part of the show.

‘But she’s got a lot on and her priority is fashion and her family, not getting a full-time job,’ a source close to Victoria and David Beckham told the paper.

With possibly all the concern over her American Idol appearances preying on her mind, Victoria looked deep in thought as she watched her husband David play for LA Galaxy yesterday.

Leaving the east coast for the west, Victoria was joined by close friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay as David competed against Seattle Sounders at The Home Depot Centre in California.

However both Victoria and Tana looked more like desperately bored LA wives than successful women in their own right, married to world-famous men.

The former Spice Girl arrived at a downtown Denver hotel where call-back auditions were being held as scores of onlookers crowded against rope barriers, many snapping photos.

Judge Kara DioGuardi arrived in a limo wearing a black dress, telling local Fox affiliate KDVR that she was wearing black to mourn Abdul’s absence. DioGuardi called Abdul her mentor and the heart of the show.

“She was very kind, she showed me the ropes, so I have to give her the props for that,” DioGuardi said. “I hope she is happy and I hope she reconsiders.

Abdul announced this week she was leaving “Idol” after eight seasons. She would not discuss details about her “Idol” exit Thursday in a phone interview, nor would she address whether the door was still open for a return.

Lilly Scott, a contestant at the Denver auditions, told KDVR-TV in Denver that the show was “kind of lame” without Abdul. “I was really excited, but three is still good,” she said.

Beckham and host Ryan Seacrest were the first to arrive at the Denver hotel Friday. Seacrest chatted with fans and posed for pictures. He grabbed the cell phone of a woman who was taking video of him, aimed at her for a few seconds, then shook her hand and returned the phone.

Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell arrived last, and the crowd grew boisterous, some chanting “We love you Simon!”

Wearing his trademark white shirt and aviator sunglasses, Cowell joked with fans and shook hands.

Melinda Doolittle, an “Idol” fan favorite who finished third in the show’s sixth season, said on her blog Friday that Abdul’s departure made her “incredibly sad.”

Each judge has a role, Doolittle wrote, “But Paula … sweet Paula, is the heart … the artist … the mama … the one who understands what you’re going through and empathizes with you.”

Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham and Anne Hathaway have designed jewelry for an auction featuring celebrity memorabilia that will benefit the Prince’s Trust and other charities.

Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Gervais have also designed jewellery or added autographs to the collection, which will be previewed at auction house Bonhams in New Bond Street, London next Tuesday.

Following the display, the exhibits will return to New York before being auctioned at Bonhams and Butterfields in Los Angeles on May 28.

Half of the proceeds of the auction, which is being organised by Los Angeles-based charity auction campaign Stars For A Cause, will go to charities chosen by the participating stars.

The other half will go to the Prince’s Trust, which helps young people develop confidence, motivation and skills to find work.

Other jewellery items include designs from Charlize Theron, Goldie Hawn and Miley Cyrus, while Sir Ben Kingsley has designed a pair of cuff-links.

Also up for auction are a Balthazar and Methuselah of Moet & Chandon champagne signed by Colin Farrell, Susan Sarandon and Gervais as well as limited-edition posters for the Golden Globe Awards autographed by Brad Pitt, Jolie, Tom Hanks, Sigourney Weaver and Winslet.

I instantly turn into this person, and it sort of feels like a character. And there are so many pictures of it. But it’s a true character because it’s still me.”
