Ellen DeGeneres has been officially chosen to be the new judge of the talent show when it returns for the ninth season in January 2010.
FOX revealed on Wednesday, September 9 that DeGeneres is going to be with the fellow judges and offer her opinion to the contestants throughout the competition. She is going to be on the panel after the audition rounds.
DeGeneres revealed that she’s thrilled to become a judge. She will continue her daytime talk show. As for her non-musical background, DeGeneres defended that she may not view it in critical way from the producer’s mind but she’s going to look at it as a person who buys music.
