Maggie Gyllenhaal Plays the Role Left By Katie Holmes In A New ‘Batman’ Movie

It seems another actress will fill up the role of Katie Holmes in a new Batman movie. It was reported that Maggie Gyllenhaal would replace the role, which Katie Holmes left off.Maggie Gyllenhaal is in final talks to star in the movie with Christian Bale. The next installment in the Batman franchise has a title: “The Dark Knight.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal would play the character of Rachel Dawes, the role left by Katie Holmes from “Batman Begins.” It was only in January that Katie Holmes declared she was dropping out of the project.

The cast of the new Batman movie includes Heath Ledger as the Joker and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. “The Dark Knight” is going to be shown during the summer of 2008.
