Prince William Urges Soccer ‘Respect’

Prince William expressed his support that soccer stars should respect match officials as he wanted the athletes to stop verbally abusing referees.

The prince, who is president of the English Football Association, is keen for all players to support the football association’s Respect program, which was started after two players were involved in separate incidents of dissent towards referees.

The young royal believes the sport can have a positive impact on children and young people. He also celebrated on September 9 because England is qualified for next year’s World Cup in South Africa.
