Tila Tequila’s NFL Boyfriend Was Arrested
September 7th, 2009Shawne Merriman, who is a star linebacker of NFL’s San Diego Chargers, was arrested on Sunday after his girlfriend accused him of choking and restraining her, according to San Diego police.
Tila Tequila called police early on Sunday and she was identified as Merriman’s girlfriend in media reports. According to her statement, the incident happened when she tried to leave his residence.
The reality starlet signed a citizen’s arrest charging him with battery and false imprisonment. Merriman, 25, was taken into custody and later released on bail. Tequila was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
